Key To Successful Events

You want your event to be the best it can be. Not only throughout the planning process, but also on the day of your special event and in the memories you will have years to come. You deserve this and you want the best for your family and guests.

We’ll be covering:
1. Your Need To Have The Best Party
2. Finding the Right Person for the Job
3. Embracing New Ideas

Your Need To Have The Best Party

Imagine it is your wedding day. You arrive at the reception site where your celebration will take place. Everything is setup and in perfect arrangement. Your room is aglow with candlelight.

The only problem is that your wedding dress and tuxedo are soaked up to your ankles; it’s pitch dark everywhere and your guests are being guided downstairs to the restrooms by your attendants with flashlights. All this is happening because a lightning storm has knocked out all the power.

An experienced DJ would not be flustered by this. You want someone who is not going to sit down and do nothing. You want someone who works as part of your team.

I had the above situation happen early on in my career. I got on the phone and called in the Backup Squad. We put a generator in the driveway, fired it up, and ran the power inside. To the glowing candlelight of the ballroom the bride and groom danced their first dance together. We saved the party!

Finding The Right Person For The Job

It is unlikely that the power will go out at your event. You will want to make sure your DJ has the poise, experience and mindset to overcome the types of challenges that can make or break a party.

Some questions to ask when hiring a DJ:

Have this conversation with a number of possible professional DJ’s. Do you feel comfortable with the level of service they provide? Do they answer their phone? When they answer their phone, do they answer it professionally? You want your calls returned promptly.

Now you are getting a good feel for whom you would like to work with.

Let us talk about Embracing New Ideas.

You may have been to a few events in the past. However, now that you are planning your own, you are looking at things from an entirely different perspective.

You are the host.

If it is a wedding you are planning, this is a once in a lifetime event.

If it is a corporate event, your reputation is on the line and you want to come out a winner.

Birthdays, Anniversaries, Mitzvahs, Reunions, Fundraisers and all other events deserve to have the full attention from the people you hire to create the success you desire.

This means using the expertise of the team you have chosen. You want to trust the expertise of your professional entertainer. Your partner in the success of this special event will listen carefully to your thoughts; and have many questions to ask.

Someone who is serious about his or her profession will be creative and innovative. What this means for you is if you want something different than the last event you went to you can put together a plan using your DJ’s expertise.

You want your DJ constantly looking for and creating new ideas. These ideas will be appropriate to your wants and the need to succeed at your party.

May I suggest you begin your search by considering the members of the Chicagoland American Disc Jockey Association? These are committed professionals who come together regularly to network, support the industry, strive for, and invest in continuous education.

You will find a great resource of experience, ideas and a willingness to help you have your vision of a fun celebration come to life.

Good luck and have fun!
